T8 chain — analogue of DIN 818-2 / EN 818-2
Russian replacement for the DIN 818-2 / EN 818-2 lifting chain (class 8, T8/G80) — GOST EN 818-2-2017 and our TU-002. Selection by load and size.
What DIN 818-2 / EN 818-2 is
DIN 818-2 and EN 818-2 are short-link calibrated chains of strength class 8 (designation T8, colloquially G80) for lifting duties, including sling assemblies. A chain of this class is several times stronger than a normal one at the same diameter. Our T8 line corresponds in purpose to GOST 30188-97 — chains for hoists, lifting and load-handling devices; as in that standard, our TUs do not provide for use as slings.
Russian analogue
The Russian replacement is high-strength lifting chains:
- to GOST EN 818-2-2017;
- to our TU-002 (class 8, short-link calibrated, marking T8) — made by GZC.
For class 8, the acceptance proof and technological test loads and the breaking load are standardised. The working load (WLL) is not set in the TU: it is taken as the breaking load with a safety factor (typically 4 for lifting).
How to select a replacement
- Take the diameter (d), pitch (t) and required working load from the imported catalog.
- Calculate the required breaking load with your safety factor (usually ×4 for lifting).
- Select the closest size by breaking load, taking the weight and dimensions into account.
- For load-handling applications, check the certification and document requirements.
Important
For lifting people and critical load-handling operations, the application, safety factor and documents are regulated separately — agree them with a technologist and the occupational safety service. The replacement is confirmed by technical parameters for the specific task; we do not use third-party trademarks as product names.
