Analogue of DIN 5685 chain
Russian replacement for DIN 5685 utility chains (long-link and short-link forms) — welded round-link chains to GOST 2319-81 and our TU 25.93.17-001-06515248-2020 (class 3). Selected by gauge and pitch.
What the DIN 5685 chain is
DIN 5685 is a family of welded round-link chains made from round bar for utility (trade) purposes: part 1 — long-link, part 2 — with a medium (half-long) link, part 3 — short-link (in trade such chains are often designated by forms: A — short-link, C — long-link). These chains are manufactured without proof loading, are not calibrated and are not intended for lifting loads or load-handling operations.
Typical applications are fencing, suspensions, securing parts and cargo, and household and decorative tasks.
Russian analogue
The closest Russian products of the same type and purpose are welded round-link chains of normal strength:
- to GOST 2319-81 — welded general-purpose round-link chains;
- to our TU 25.93.17-001-06515248-2020 (TU-001, strength class 3) — short-link and long-link versions.
Important: DIN 5685 chains have no standardised loads, while our TU-001 chains have standardised working and breaking loads. The correspondence is therefore selected by the link type (long-link or short-link), gauge and pitch, not by load figures.
How to select
- Determine the type: long-link (part 1) or short-link (part 3).
- Measure the gauge (d) and pitch (t) — they determine the size.
- Check the outer link width and the weight per 1 m.
- Specify the version (uncoated, zinc) and the required cut length.
Non-standard sizes and lengths — to order, by parameters or drawing.
Important
A match in diameter does not guarantee a replacement: DIN 5685 chains are untested trade chains without a standardised breaking load, so the final conformity is confirmed by a technologist for the specific task and size. We use the wording “analogue/replacement”, without third-party trademarks.
