Analogues of DIN 763 and DIN 766

DIN 763 vs DIN 766 — the difference
DIN — German standards for chains. The two most common:
- DIN 763 — long-link chains of normal strength.
- DIN 766 — short-link calibrated chains of normal strength.
The difference is in the link pitch (long/short) and in calibration: a short-link calibrated chain is more precise in pitch and suits mechanisms where geometry matters.

Correspondence of the standards (for reference, clarified by a technologist for the specific size and task):
- DIN 766 → short-link calibrated, strength class 3, manufactured to our TU 25.93.17-001-06515248-2020.
- DIN 763 → long-link, strength class 3, manufactured to our TU 25.93.17-001-06515248-2020.
- DIN 818-2 / EN 818-2 (class 8, T8/G80) → high-strength lifting, manufactured to our TU 25.93.17-002-06515248-2026.
How to select an analogue
The replacement is selected by one of the parameters:
- Size — link diameter and pitch (for example,
8×24). - Load — by the required working load.
- Drawing or sample — if only the geometry and material are known.
