Chain strength classes

What a strength class is
The strength class characterises the permissible working load of a chain at a given link gauge.
The higher the class, the greater the load the chain withstands at the same diameter. The class is denoted
by a number (3, 8, 10) or an alphanumeric code (T8 / G80).
Strength classes
Class 3 — normal strength
General-purpose chains: pulling, fastening, general tasks. They come short-link and long-link, calibrated and non-calibrated. The plant manufactures them to the technical specification TU 25.93.17-001-06515248-2020.
Class 8 (T8 / G80) — high-strength lifting
Chains for hoists, lifting and load-handling devices. They offer a high working load at a moderate weight. As in GOST 30188-97, our TUs do not provide for their use as slings. The plant manufactures them to the technical specification TU 25.93.17-002-06515248-2026.
Class 10 (T10) — extra high-strength
Special lifting applications with maximum loads; selected for a specific task.
How to read load tables
- Working load (WLL) — the permissible load on the chain in operating mode.
- Proof load (test load) — the control load during testing.
- Breaking load (BL) — the limit at which the chain breaks; always higher than the working load.
You should rely on the working load with a mandatory safety factor, not on the breaking load (BL).
Select by load
Use the selection by load or the strength class reference. Need a specific size — state the load and the conditions, and we will suggest options.
