Why hardware sits next to chains

A chain rarely works alone: a section is closed into a loop, hung by a ring, its end fixed with a hook or a split pin. That is why our chain catalogs are accompanied by in-house hardware products and chain products. The range covers typical assemblies: from putting products together to fixing, connecting and repairing. Below — what the range includes and how to order it.

Rings

Welded ring — a part for products and a rigging fastener. Material — low-carbon steel. Coating: barrel finishing (polishing) or galvanic zinc plating (zinc coating).
Steel ring — for household needs and assembling chain products; low-carbon steel, coating to order.

Split pins

Spring needle split pin (form E, R-shaped) — quick-release retention: the item is placed into a hole and removed without tools. The size is selected by the diameter of the part to be pinned. In the notation: d — pin diameter, d1 — diameter of the hole for the pin, L — length, D — inner diameter of the pin's ring, Ø — diameter of the part to be pinned (min–max).

Hooks

S-shaped hook — a part for chain products and rigging; low-carbon steel; coating to order: barrel finishing, painting, galvanic zinc plating.
Double hook — a part for various products; coating to order, including painting with enamels and lacquer.

We make both hooks to a size or drawing — send us the parameters and we will select the version.

Connectors

A connector (connecting link) serves to close the ends of a chain or replace a damaged section. After fitting, the connector is welded — the joint becomes permanent. It is selected for the gauge and type of the chain; the availability and exact version — check with a manager, we will suggest options for your chain (see the Chain connector card). If the connector is needed for a specific section, send the gauge and pitch — we will select a compatible one.

Chain products

In the chain products section — finished products from our range: a galvanized chain sling for a restraint system (safety harnesses) in work at height. This is a restraint product, not a cargo load-handling sling — do not confuse the applications. Other items we make to customer drawings and requirements: if the required item is not in the catalog, we will make it to your drawing or sample. Accompanying documents for the batch — on request via a manager.

Materials, coatings and manufacturing

The material is low-carbon steel; coatings — barrel finishing, galvanic zinc plating, painting. Read about choosing a coating in the article Chain zinc plating. Apart from the standard items, we manufacture wire parts: welded rings, S- and Z-hooks, split pins, coupling elements — the Manufacturing of wire parts service. The plant produces the wire itself — by drawing from steel rod; this is a separate service, Wire drawing.

How to order

Collect the parameters: item type, size (for a split pin — the diameter of the part to be pinned), material, coating, quantity.
If there is no size — send a drawing, sketch or photo of a sample.
Send the data to a manager: we will select the version and prepare a quotation.

For critical applications (rigging, load-handling assemblies), the application, safety factor and documents are agreed separately — check with a manager.
